Wedding Favours

Practically every element of a wedding breakfast can be shared between various professionals – be it, planning, decorations, administration such as invitations and wedding list through to the flowers, food, even the music at the reception. One additional element of the modern wedding, which has now become almost expected, is to provide a wedding favour to each guest. If you are planning a wedding soon, you, like many brides-to-be, may decide to prepare the wedding favours yourself. Some do it because they have the time and creativity, while some do it because wedding favours are actually one aspect of the wedding preparations where they believe they can cut costs. However what seems like a relatively easy exercise at the beginning can soon escalate into a real headache.

Having recently helped two friends in their wedding preparations I’m now strongly of the opinion that such tasks should definitely be left in the hands of experienced professional. A wedding favours company has the expertise and are as a result much more efficient. They are also adept at sourcing the right people to produce the individualised wedding favours now considered necessary these contain items showing the guests names and specific wedding details. Though to my mind a little over the top, these wedding favours do create the personal touch. The quality produced by these companies is very hard to replicate by a non-professional wedding favours bride to be, and may well work out cheaper than if you try to do the who thing yourself.

Within a well put together wedding favour is to be found a wedding favour gift tag they are what make wedding favours complete. The wedding favour gift tag makes the whole wedding favour gift personal, without it the gift would remain impersonal. Many couples use wedding favour gift tags to express their gratitude to each and every guest who shared in their special day. Obviously all this individual communication requires both administration as well as production skills.

As well as personalising the presents the modern couple are also keen on the overall look of the wedding breakfast. The wedding favours carefully designed and produced can add to the beauty of the whole layout. Obviously colour, but also, size, materials and calligraphy used for the wedding favours needs to be planned and created for the wedding day.

If you are determined on creating the wedding favour yourself, make sure they add to or at least don’t detract from your wedding's colour scheme. Remember that wedding favours are typically placed on every table at the reception. When individualised, these presents must be presented to the events organizer well in advance together with the days seating plan.

The design can be as complex or simple as you want, but you need to consider the number of guests and how long it will likely take you to complete each wedding favour gift. Obviously if you are individualizing the presents you will have to create a guest list first and check off the gift with the individual. Be sure to allow yourself plenty of time or the whole process could get quite stressful quite quickly. Bare in mind that the bride to be will be very busy with many last minute social and personal issues to deal with as the wedding draws nearer.

You can buy the materials for making wedding favour gifts from arts and crafts stores as well as specialty stores. Make sure you have enough materials to create all the wedding favour gifts, and that you can make a few extra ones just in case you make any mistakes along the way. Best still, leave it to the professionals.

•Buying Party Bags
For most of us, one of our fondest memories from childhood is going to our friends’ birthday parties. Of course, children’s parties always meant that elusive silly little plastic bag that we were given, with nothing more than a slice a cake, a toy and some sweets inside. They weren’t anything amazing, but we still loved receiving them anyway. They were a little bit like Christmas Crackers; we all groaned at them, but secretly we’d miss them if they were gone! Nevertheless, these days, party...

•Hertford House Wedding
When planning for a wedding the ideas and dreams of the most magical day often come flooding back from our childhood memories. Especially for us ‘brides to be’ – we had already chosen our wedding dress and flowers by the time we were 11. It was important for my husband and I to both make the decisions together about the wedding and boy was there a lot to think about. It was crucial that we found a place where we could have both our ceremony and reception antics. And we also wanted the wedding...

•Asian Wedding Planning
Planning any wedding can be a stressful and disorganised time for anyone but coming from an Indian background I had a lot to take on – I had a grand event to organise. Every Asian wedding I have attended had been very impressive, but I wanted mine to have the wow factor and for people to be talking about my wedding in years to come. So as you can imagine I was putting myself under no pressure (ahem). I wanted my wedding to be one of great memories and I wanted the day to go ahead without any...

•Asian Wedding Chinese Style
Until I was invited to a Chinese wedding I had no idea how different they were to weddings from a western background. My friend Jiao from work had invited our whole team to the ceremony and although her husband is from a Christian background she wanted to include some Chinese rituals. In Chinese culture they are very family orientated and both families are very much involved from the start for the preparation of the wedding. Jiao had said she was lucky as both parties were happy to be involved...

•Italian Wedding
Although weddings have changed over the years some cultures still like to keep their big day with old rituals and tradition! Italian weddings are one of the cultures that as well as their country they like to keep their weddings traditional. A lot of traditional wedding acts carried out by the Italians are renowned over the world. The veil that is worn by the bride on her wedding day is one of the traditions that has stemmed back to Italy. The veil suggests that as it covers the bride’s face...

•Chair Covers Added the Magic
My beautiful wedding! That’s what I wanted to create, but how to do it on a very small budget. I wanted the whole wedding to look like a dream wedding, but instead it was to be held in a tatty, dingy room lacking in any trace of romance. What to do, the venue we could afford was nothing special. It’s the local community hall. I’ve done ballet classes, brownies and guides their, any magic it might have had has left the venue years ago. It’s still used for children’s groups and classes to this...

•Indian Wedding Dress to Remember
Anyone who has attended an Indian wedding will know what a grand event this is – not only for the bride and groom but for the whole community. Being the bride I wanted to look perfect and stun my numerous guests. With any wedding there is a lot to think about and to prepare for but with an Asian wedding the list is tenfold. Family and friends are very important for this big day and I could not have organised and planned the wedding without them. My main duty was to ensure I turned up looking...

•Traditional Wedding
Your wedding day should always be one of special memories – not just for the bride and groom but for everyone involved. I had thought about my wedding since I was a little girl, using my Mother’s clothes as props and my neighbour Sanjeev who was a year younger than me. My husband and I were heavily involved in every intricate detail in the planning of the big day. With my husband being in the internet marketing sector he was able to deal with our suppliers and ensure we got the best deals and...
