Some Ideas on Which Inbound and Outbound Links to Track With An Ad Tracking Program

Banner advertising - use a tracking link to see which banners are more popular on which sites and web pages.

Blog comments - track your blog comments you post to see which attract the most interest.

Classified advertising - you'll want to split test your ads to find out which ad sites are most responsive and which ads are most popular.

E-books - It's wise to embed tracking links in the body of your e-book. Since these will most likely be long-term links, you'll want to keep them pointed to active websites by redirecting them in your tracking program control panel if you ever decide to change your website URL.

E-mail signature files - find out which signature ads attract the most response in your emails that you send out. These could be personal or business related emails.

E-newsletter links - check the response rate of your newsletter subscribers. Test similar ads in different newsletters and compare different ads in each newsletter.

Forum links - use a tracking link in your forum signature file and also in the main body of your forum posts whenever you have a good reason to include a link.

Online auctions - direct people to your online auctions using tracking links and find out which of your products get the most attention.

Pop-up ads - you can measure the responsiveness to these with tracking links. Pop-up ads can be very effective.

PPC ads - using tracking links will allow you to check your stats but you can also test the responsiveness of different pages via your ad tracker control panel.

Reciprocal links - see how well your links are doing on third-party sites (and monitor them to make sure they are not quietly removed).

Traffic exchanges - find out which squeeze pages attract the most clicks. Using a tracking program can provide more detailed information..

You should now realize that ad trackers are very important tools for your internet business and allows you to see what is happening and why.
