Why Squeeze Page Visitors Don t Opt In

Collecting an email list of potential customers by using a squeeze page is an excellent way to quickly grow your business. The key is to get the people who visit this page to join your opt in list therefore squeeze pages are by design very boring. By intentionally limiting the use of graphics or text on this page the visitor is able to focus more on simply leaving their email contact address. Curiously enough it is still very common for the vast majority of people who visit squeeze pages to not submit any contact information as requested.

Here are 4 common oversights that some of your squeeze pages may display that can lead to the failure of the visitor to subscribe to your opt in list.

Multiple Navigational Options

The purpose of most all squeeze pages is ONLY to capture the visitors contact information. Therefore the ONLY option they should be offered would be a submit button. By offering more options than this you are defeating the purpose and effectiveness of the page itself.

Multiple options will distract your visitor thereby decreasing the chances of them submitting their contact information

Improperly Positioning Your Opt In Box

You want the opt in box to be seen by any visitors as soon as the page opens. The reason is you want it ALWAYS in view since you will be continuously reminding them to use it throughout the 'brief' text of your page. It is always best to be sure your opt in box appears above the 'fold' of your page. In other words try to avoid having the visitor scroll down to see the box.

Remember, out of sight out of mind!

Ad and Page Inconsistencies

The ad that attracted your visitor MUST be consistent with the page they land on. The same keywords you use in your ad should also be prominently displayed on the page itself. If not the visitor will assume it is not what they were looking for or what you were advertising therefore they WILL leave. It is suggested to use the keyword(s) in the title of your page to verify the content consistency immediately.

Failure to Clearly Ask for Their Contact Info

As your visitor reads the brief amount of text the page will contain they should be continuously reminded to leave their 'contact information' in the box below. As they approach the box you then clearly 'direct' them to leave the required information to receive the benefits and gift you spoke of earlier. Your very last line in fact should be directing or even commanding them to the box in order to leave their contact information. Impress upon them if they do not they will miss out receiving all that they have been promised.

Like in sales if you do not ask you will not get!

Using a squeeze page to collect an email list of potential customers for your online business is an excellent way to accelerate its growth. The sole intention of this page is to capture the email contact address of the page visitor. By reviewing above 4 common oversights that you may be committing on your squeeze page you can hopefully improve upon both its design and effectiveness.
