Cloudier mucus is more difficult to penetrate. What you must start doing is to follow the progress of your CM over a number of months. You need to time intercourse to coincide within a few days before you ovulate and maybe a few days after ovulation. The egg has the greatest chance of being fertilised by the sperm at this time.
