It was a pleasant surprise to find myself on the 1st page of the Google search engine with my keyword "online MLM lead". Achieving the no. 1, no. 2, no. 4, no. 6 and no. 9 positions for that same keyword just made my day. How did I improve Google ranking for this keyword phrase? Principally through researching on the numerous Google search keywords and employing keyword optimization techniques. It was so exciting! I had two articles and one YouTube video publicizing a screenshot of myself on that page where everyone who was searching for that precise keyword would be taken to. It is a huge advertisement, all for free. To achieve a high ranking on Google, it is not enough to simply research on the top searh word alone or on keyword popularity. To successfully optimize your keywords, you need to be aware of which keywords you plan to concentrate on. The problem is in identifying the top Google search keywords and which to work on. The usage of keywords tools such as Wordtracker or Adwords Analyzer can significantlyassist you in your research on the top search words. The utilization of such tools will allow you to draw up a list of keyword suggestions based on the keyword you input. You can moreover make use of freeadwordstool.com, Google's very own free keyword search tool. Tools such as Wordtracker and Adwords analyzer allow you to perform keyword analyzer functions. After you have identified your top search words, in order to improve Google ranking, you would have to get hold of the number of competing websites there are for that precise keyword you are targeting. The application of the Wordtracker and Adwords Analyzer software makes the keyword analyzer process a breeze. Instead of using the paid keyword analyzer programs, there is a free way to do this process. What you can do is to search on the Google search engine. Doing it this way is of course more tedious and time consuming. What you are on the lookout for are keywords that have high popularity and fewer competing websites. For a beginner, this is the first step for keyword optimization. If you are using the freeadwordstool.com site, you would want to go for keywords that have a minimum of 600 searches initially. At the same time, you would look out for those keywords which have less than 50,000 competitors. To check on this, go to Google.com and key in the keyword in an exact match, i.e. with the keyword enclosed in quotes. So if you want to search for mlm as the keyword, you would key in "mlm". Look at the top right hand corner of Google and you can see the number of competitor's websites listed. By picking a keyword with less than 50,000 competitors, you will have a larger probabilityto improve your ranking on Google and appearing on the first page in the organic searches. After you have researched on the top search words and the competition, the next step is to calculate the KEI or the Keyword Effectiveness Index. How effective the keyword is can be measured by the KEI. You are comparing the keyword popularity with the competitiveness, thereby allowing you to have a better understanding of the effectiveness of that unique keyword. To have a bigger chance of appearing on the first page of the search engines with that particular keyword, you want to find a keyword with a higher KEI amount. This means that the keyword is a more popular keyword with a good number of searches and with not that many competition websites. Take note that the KEI can vary over time. This can be seen for the "online MLM lead" keyword phrase that I had picked. Previously there were only 2,400 searches as compared with 1,210 competitors. However, I had a massive shock when I checked again today. There was such a tremendous change. Keyword popularity dropped to 1,300 searches and competitors increased to a whopping 3 million! Creating more than one content with the same keywords is encouraged. This can be achieved with some of the following ways: posting on blogs, submitting to article directories, creating videos, submitting videos, generating content on authority sites such as Squidoo, Hubpages, etc... You have a higher chance of appearing on the first page of Google when you take the effort to create more content with the same top Google search keywords. If you are keen to improve your Google ranking, check out the top search words and keyword popularity. Use any of the keywords tool and go ahead to execute the keyword analyzer. Target keyword optimization. When you are adept in optimizing your keywords, you have a greater chance of appearing on the first page of Google in the organic search section.
