Would I be willing to do the same if I had the talent? I guess I answer that question every day with how I approach life and business. In the Olympics, it is said that those who want the medals most achieve them. That makes sense. When you want something bad enough, you are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve it. It is the same with an online business: If you really want to succeed, you will do what it takes to succeed. You will write articles to build backlinks instead of watching your favourite television show; you will do keyword research instead of playing your favourite online game; you will review your websites to see what you are doing right and wrong instead of taking in a movie. The time and effort you invest in your online business is what determines how successful you will be. The truth is that I really have not wanted a successful online business bad enough yet. In the first two months of building the online business, I worked really hard and created the foundation that now earns one hundred and fifty dollars per month with Adsense. Since that, I have not been as persistent. I have still worked on keyword research and analysing the successes and failures of my websites, but have been very lax in writing the articles that are imperative for building backlinks. I guess in my mind, the equivalent of winning a gold medal in an online business would be replacing the entire income of my current day job. This would allow me to spend more time with my family, and work out of our home. This has always been a goal of mine and would be as good as gold in my eyes. A silver medal in online business to me would be a consistent two thousand dollars per month. With that income, I would be able to start outsourcing work on the business, which would propel it towards a future gold medal. In my mind, a bronze medal in online business would be a consistent one thousand dollar per month income through Adsense. This would be a huge help towards paying down debt and saving for the future. Of course the Olympics and an online business are not the same thing. The big difference between building an online business and the Olympics is that when you build an online business, it has the potential to keep paying off for the rest of your life. The past few months, I have not been working at backlinks or anything, and the Adsense income has still been consistent. The foundation I set up is still there and ready to build on. The long and the short of it is that the Olympic Games have inspired me to work hard once again at building my online business. I will succeed, and you can too!
