Commercial Industrial Truck Dock Loading Ramps

Loading ramps act as bridges between buildings or docks, and truckbeds. Loading ramps can be found in every industry and are used in a wide range of market places. They are engineered to make the loading and unloading of trucks as safe and expedient as possible. Some loading ramps are intended to be used specifically for rail cars, but the majority of them are manufactured for trucks and trailer beds. In certain instances, specialty loading dock equipment such as wheel risers and steel platforms may also need to maximize safety and process flow.

Dockboards

Dockboards are loading ramps that span the gap between the dock and the truck and make loading and unloading safe. They are designed to support power equipment such as fork trucks. Dockboards are built with curbs on the sides that prevent vehicle runoffs and provide additional structure and weight capacity. Because they must support vehicles as well as products and workers, most models are made from heavy duty steel, although Easy Rack does supply lightweight aluminum models when appropriate and requested. Capacities range from 6,000 to 40,000 lbs.

Aluminum Dock Plates

Plates made are manual loading ramps made from high grade "diamond deck" aluminum. They are somewhat similar in design to dock boards, but they are not to be confused with them. Dockplates are to be used only with manual loading on hand trucks or pallet jacks.

Edge-of-Dock Levelers

These loading ramps are used in high docks that constructed without pit mounted levelers. They are ideal for truck traffic, LTL, and fork truck traffic that is from 5” below dock level to 5” above dock level. A unique design features molded bumpers and a mechanical spring operation that takes heavy work out of the lifting and helps ensure that the unit is correctly positioned each time it is used.

Steel Yard Ramps

These loading ramps are used for loading trucks from the ground, either because there is no truck high dock present, or because there are more trucks than docks. Yard ramps are portable and can be towed with a forklift. A hydraulic pump allows the height of the yard ramp to be adjusted, and deep side members prevent forklift runoff.

Mini Ramps

These loading ramps offer an economical solution when the target height is ½ or less that of normal dock heights (generally 33” or less). Minis can be used with manual equipment and fork trucks. Capacities start at 12,000 lbs and range upward. The mini ramp can be shipped with an optional mobility package that allows the unit to be relocated without a hydraulic actuated undercarriage. Capacities start at 12,000 lbs with standard and custom sizes available.

Hook & Apron Walkramps

These aluminum loading ramps are designed for foot traffic, hand trucks, and pallet jacks moved by hand. Standard lengths run from 3' to 16'and two widths of 29" or 39".

Steel Platform Portable Docks

Steel Platforms allow facilities to enlarge their dock areas incrementally by installing platforms one at a time or by ganging them together to create a significantly larger dock space for loading and unloading. Capacities begin at 16,000 lbs.

Wheel Risers

If the dock is too high for incoming trucks, unloading and loading the truck can be hazardous and time consuming. Wheel risers are small ramps that fit under truck wheels so the bed of the trailer can be positioned properly above dock for safer and faster loading.

•Truck Loading Ramps
Many sites lack a permanent dock and require another method of loading up truck trailers. Truck loading ramps are one way to get the job done. They make it easy and safe to load products into a truck no matter how remote the location is. Construction crews especially value truck loading ramps for their ability to load and materials and supplies for building. Because they function exactly like concrete loading ramps on permanent docks, truck loading ramps are able to support forklifts traffic...

•Loading Dock Ramps
Some facilities, such as construction sites, lack a loading dock with a permanent, concrete loading dock ramp. Moving products to and from trucks and rail cars can be difficult for these businesses, even with the use of fork trucks. Portable yard ramps make it easy and efficient to expeditiously move product from point to point without the need of a dock. Construction crews especially value loading dock ramps for their ability to load and unload building materials. Because they function exactly...

•Dock Equipment
The loading dock is the place where your business meets the rest of the world, and where the products that your staff has invested time and energy in finishing and preparing are handled before being dispatched. It is the place in your business where there is the greatest concentration of assets, and the place where accidents are both most likely to happen, and most costly when they do. The dock equipment that your business invests in can play a major role in preventing accidental damage to any...

•Yard Ramps
Yard ramps are loading dock ramps that allow forklifts to enter shipping containers or trucks in facilities that lack elevated loading docks, or they allow forklifts to move from an elevated dock onto the ground. Pneumatic wheels on the ramps allow them to be moved into place by fork trucks, and hydraulic pumps that are built into the units allow them to be positioned at the precise height of a truck trailer bed, rail car, or loading dock. Both dock to ground yard ramps and ground to truck...

•Wheel Risers
Wheel risers are small ramps that go under the wheels of trucks. They are used whenever docks are higher than the backs of the trucks being loaded. In the world of loading dock equipment, almost everything goes up more easily—and more safely-- than it goes down. If you have a 48 inch high dock and a 52 inch high trailer bed, you don’t need a wheel riser or any other special equipment. The long side of your dockboard, also known as the ramping portion, goes on the dock itself. The other...

•Aluminum Loading Dock Ramps
Installing a permanent loading dock in a facility that lacks one is unrealistic in this economy. The expense is too great for most companies to bear in the middle of a recession. An alternative must be found that allows a facility to load and unload trucks safely and quickly, but does not cost a fortune to employ. Aluminum loading ramps provide just that alternative. Designed to be highly portable, yet also very rugged and sturdy, an aluminum loading ramp can provide you will all of the...

•Portable Docks
Portable docks are steel platforms that are used with yard ramps in areas where there is no building or loading dock available. They are most commonly found in rural or remote construction areas, or where agricultural produce is being packaged in the field and shipped directly to market. While a portable dock can function as a standalone steel platform, it is more common to connect several units together to form the equivalent of a concrete dock that allows full fork truck functionality,...

•Loading Dock Levelers
A loading dock leveler is an important part of any dock area, and will make a big difference to how easy it is for your staff to load and unload trucks. Getting materials loaded quickly and efficiently without damaging them is essential, and there are a number of ways that a leveling system will help you to achieve your goals. Trucks come in many different sizes and the height of their trailers can be very different, which means that when they arrive at the dock thee could be a significant...

•Loading Dock Lifts
Loading dock lifts are intended to reduce man-hours and improve safety where there are no loading dock facilities. A lift raises materials to the truck by means of hydraulic cylinders. Loading dock lifts are engineered for maximum safety, minimize the risk of injury, and vastly improve time to market efficiency. Each unit features easy to use controls in the form of a push button, 24V AC on a 20 foot long coil cord. The pre-wired control box includes a magnetic starter and overload fuse, and an...

•Dock Plates
Dock plates are similar in design to dockboards and work as bridges between the surface of an elevated loading dock and the back of a truck trailer. However, dock plates are designed for much different material handling tools that are dock boards. Dockboards are heavy duty loading ramps that are usually made from steel. They are designed for forklift and other motorized vehicle traffic to and from the surface of an elevated dock. Dock plates are made from aluminum and are much more lightweight,...
