While there are millions of gourmet delicacies you can make, here are three of the most popular ones for your pleasure and some ideas on why you should partake. Although all of these items can be purchased, I would recommend doing some research online and trying out different recipes to find the perfect one. Tiramisu is my hands down favorite dessert. Unfortunately it varies in taste so widely that buying it can truly be a hit or miss prospect. I think the key when making it yourself is to be sure you have the finest quality ingredients you can afford. Almost every authentic Tiramisu contains espresso (of course), mascarpone cheese, sugar, liquor (Marsala wine, rum, port or Madeira), cocoa, eggs and heavy whipping cream. Some recipes call for you to skip the coffee heavens no! or use ricotta cheese instead of mascarpone, but I believe with Tiramisu you want to stick as closely to the traditional recipe as possible. And whatever you do, dont use cheap coffee. Use the coffee that you like to drink every day if you want to ensure a delicious dessert. Kahlua and Coffee My two favorite alcoholic drinks involve coffee and Kahlua. The first one is an espresso martini. Mix two parts Kahlua with two parts vodka and one part chilled espresso. If you are looking for a winter warm up, try an Irish coffee with Baileys Irish Cream and Kahlua. It is made with ¾ ounce of Kahlua, ¾ ounce of Baileys and 4 ounces of brewed coffee, preferable Wholesale Kona Coffee for best flavor. Top this drink with whipped cream and you cant go wrong. You can also make a Jamaican, which basically involves adding 2 ounces of Kahlua, 2 ounces of dark rum, whipped cream and a dash of nutmeg into two cups of hot, strong coffee. Coffee Ice Cream Some people cannot drink coffee in the afternoon or evening without being kept up all night. And usually this is when most people want to eat ice cream, right? Not a problem. Coffee ice cream can taste just as delicious by using decaffeinated beans. While some people would never drink decaffeinated coffee, using these beans for cooking just makes sense. If you have your own ice cream maker, you only need a few ingredients to make coffee ice cream. The most basic and delicious coffee ice cream recipe calls for some whole milk, sugar, heavy cream, egg yolks, vanilla and wholesale coffee beans -- both whole and ground. Remember, you can substitute decaf if you are worried about the caffeine from your dessert keeping you awake. Remember coffee lovers that your favorite wholesale coffee is not just for your morning coffee cup.
