Basic Vegetable Nutrition Facts to get you started





There are many different health benefits that you get from having a diet that is rich in both fruits and vegetables. One of these is a blood pressure that is lower. Other benefits are that you will have a lower chance of having heart disease, a stroke, and also lowering the risk of certain cancers. You will also have a lower chance of digestive problems, and improving your blood sugar level. This is likely to help with keeping your appetite under control.

You should try to have at minimum 5 portions every day of fruits and vegetables. This is equal to about four and a half cups. This does not include potatoes. You will want to try to eat different colors of vegetables to make sure that you have a good mixture of all the nutrients that your body needs. The best vegetables are the leafy dark greens, anything in color that is rich like orange, red, or yellow. You always will want to eat cooked tomatoes.

You should also include other food types in your diet. However it is good to know that vegetables should be a very important part of your diet. You can eat them mixed with your meat like stir fry if you don’t like to eat them separately. If you absolutely cannot stand to eat them, then you can try drinking natural fruit and vegetable juice with no sugar added. Drinking the juice will help you to get some of the great benefits from the different fruits and vegetables. You can look up the individual vegetable nutrition facts, like the calories and the vitamins, on the packaging. This is helpful if you need to know the amount of calories in a serving if you are on a reduced calorie diet.

Another important part of having your body in good condition is to make sure that you are exercising as well as eating healthier. You can do many different exercises that will help your body in being more productive and better maintained. You can talk to your nutritionist about what they recommend to go along with your diet when it comes to exercise. Some people can’t do certain exercises, this is why talking to your doctor or nutritionist is so important. Even if you decide that exercise is not for you, be sure that you still consume a proper healthy diet to help maintain your weight and health.
