One of the most commonly prescribed medications is Donepezil (Aricept). This medication works by increasing the production of the chemical messengers that control judgment and memory. An occupational therapist is someone who is trained to assist patients with the activities of daily living. Cognitive behavior therapy, which is a form of therapy that helps people understand how their thinking influences their behavior, is also beneficial to Dementia patients.
