You might prefer track RC petrol cars if - You are interested in stock cars/stock car racing - You find real cars more appealing than buggys or monster trucks - You think flat track racing is more appealing than off road - You will likely spend most of your time racing your car on a flat surface such as your street, empty car parks or miniature RC car circuits Its all basic enough stuff, but often people dont really know what they want or might prefer and buy hoping they get it right. If in doubt about what you want, sometimes it also helps you to think about what you dont want, too. Simply reverse the statements in the list above and see if your answers differ. Track cars obviously perform better than buggys or trucks on a flat surface because they are built for it with a low chassis, etc, and trucks are bona fide rough terrain vehicles with big chunky wheels and high chassis, far-traveling suspension. If you want to try both, I advise purchasing a buggy as a first car so its got versatility, and you can refine your hobby later should you find you strongly prefer one type of driving over another, and purchase maybe a monster truck or track car. As it goes, I spend most of my time racing my cars around a disused airfield nearby so usually I take out the track car and if I absolutely had to choose, Id choose that. I use my monster trucks and buggys regularly too, but not as often, though I wouldnt part with them because I feel Id be missing out, but, each to their own.
