When you work for an employer you have to work the hours set in your contract. Your paycheque, salary or wage is determined by the boss. Most people work on average some 40 hours per week. I suppose if you have a job you could even consider yourself lucky. Yet you are not happy with working for the boss or you would not be reading this article. You are seeking something better. Naturally, most if not all of us are always looking for ways to improve our lives. From wanting a bigger car, buying a better house, or having more vacation time, we keep hoping for more but continue to do the same things we've always done. Unfortunately this just doesn't work and in order to get what you DO NOT HAVE , you must shake things up a bit and do something you have never done before. Here is my definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again YET expecting different results! As an employee, you cannot stay at the same job forever and you could always be laid off to. Unemployment has hit records levels throughout the world. It is not really in your control and that goes for all employee situations out there. Manufacturing companies are placing their employees on shorter working time which means lowering their income. Sure, you can take up a second or even third job, but do you have enough hours and stamina in a day to sustain it? Where is that quality time for you. How many years do most people have to work. In many countries when retirement comes the pension or savings that people have is not enough to sustain their income. For many they have to continue to work. In Britain there is talk of increasing the retirement age to around 70 years of age. How many working years would you have to work? The bottom-line: Trading time for money does not make increasing the hours just to win the rat race, but at the end of the day, you are still just a rat on the mill! It is something to think about The truth is that you can never really be "Free" if you are working for someone else. You need to call the shots. You will not make yourself redundant. Many who are made redundant are not always made redundant because lack of orders. Sometimes it is because the boss wants more profit. If you are the boss the profit is yours. You are in control. But if you work for someone. You go to dress how they want you to, be where they want you to WHEN they want you to and of course act how they want you too. Do you really want to be around the same boring people in your works department. Or, do you want to have to be nice to the same customers each and every day. What gives - Why not try being your own boss for a change? Everything is possible. Walt Disney once said. If you can dream it you can do it. America and Britains economy grew from ordinary individuals who wanted to be their own boss. To be your own boss failure is not an option. If you work hard and dedicate your energy you will succeed.
