The Internet has created an infinite number of opportunities to ditch our 9-5s and set up businesses working entirely from the comfort of our homes. We know this for a fact because millions of people across the globe are doing it but we also know that their levels of success can be many miles and thousands and thousands of dollars apart. In some cases, the income differences can run into millions of dollars and this creates the dilemma for us mere mortals. The Internet is a fast paced business medium and this has led us all to believe, quite naturally, that there is a quick fix out there which will bring instant financial security. Patience and perseverance are virtues which do not fit comfortably in todays world of internet marketing and we are left desperately seeking that instant turnkey or business in a box opportunity to change our fortunes. Does it exist and where can we find it?
The questions I have just raised are not easily answered and before I explore this further, I will start at the beginning and put some meat on the bones by outlining the usual thought processes, concepts and pitfalls experienced, particularly by newbies, at the beginning of their online ventures.
First, it is imperative to create the clearest possible view of what you want and the goals which must be set in order to achieve those aims. Immediately, let me say that these factors alone can be extremely testing. Let me fill in some background. So we have decided to start a home based internet business and at this point, I will assume that we have a clear picture of what we want. We start by searching and digging around, we join numerous email lists and then buy into programs. We think we have found the answers were looking for but then what happens? We get bombarded with emails promoting more programs claiming to be cutting edge which will fast track everything for us and making the usual exaggerated claims such as get this program and skyrocket your earnings to $10k, $20k and more per month. We are now likely to suffer from information overload and very soon after, paralysis by analysis sets in and our once clear vision for future prosperity has gone and we feel completely lost. The serious consequence of these symptoms is that we fail to take any action and after spending hundreds and in some cases possibly thousands of dollars, we have hit the buffers and our enthusiasm disintegrates. At this point, we would not know the truth about anything even if it slapped us in the face. Is this sorry scenario familiar to you? It is to me.
Lets face it, there are internet marketers who deliberately set out to cause confusion in the minds of their customers because they know that the ultimate key to open up our wallets and purses, is a confused mind. Again, I feel pretty certain that this is a familiar experience. That said, I must point out that not everyone in the internet marketing world is there just to rip people off and steal their money and whilst this may provide some comfort, it is of little consolation if you have been scammed and lied to. For such victims, the World Wide Web may be a scary place to go and you have my sympathy.
It is true to say that there is money to be made from the Internet and yes there are a few and very fortunate individuals who do make millions of dollars a year from their IM Businesses. These are the Big Players or Gurus and it is a certain fact that they did not achieve their fortunes by working no more than a couple of hours a day. So is it a myth to proclaim that fortunes can be made with as little as a few mouse clicks here and there? I say yes! Nothing offering such massive financial rewards is achieved by minimal effort. They could not rely upon any quick fix solutions because in the beginning, they had not created or invented them. My guess is that their working days extended beyond 16+hours.
The bottom line is that the internet business world continues to evolve at a rapid pace and to keep in line, none of us are really interested in pursuing opportunities requiring hours and hours of time fighting through the fluff and the hype and then being faced with all of the techie stuff which we're told will be a simple one click operation to get the thing started. Is anything ever that simple and straight forward? Not usually. But we still search for that quick fix turnkey or business in a box solution to propel our home businesses to levels equalling our expectations.
