Flowers to Welcome a New Life into the World

When a child is born, there is nothing that can describe the experience. A couple instantly becomes a family, sleepless nights are to follow, but the most exciting part is the fact that there is a new child in the world and it should be celebrated. Friends and family often want to do this by sending flowers, but what are the most appropriate flowers to send on this joyous occasion?
Lilies
The big open blooms are perfect for this wonderful moment in time. They not only come in a stunning array of whites, creams, pinks and oranges, but also look incredible when mixed with other varieties of flowers. Their bright green stems give a lovely contrast and will brighten any room.
Roses
The range of roses that are available is almost endless, as are the colours. Roses can be found in beautiful pastels like peaches, pink, purples, creams and oranges or striking colours like magentas, reds and yellows. Roses are perfect for rooms with limited space. They can be arranged in a small box, accented with a bright ribbon and are still just as eye catching as the largest of bouquets.
Carnations
Carnations are one of the classic flowers to give when this exciting time comes around. The delicate flower is gorgeous in lilacs, pinks and whites. The perfume that the flower gives will be sure to fill any room with a gorgeous fragrance. These flowers look fantastic in an arrangement when teamed with a teddy bear or helium balloon.
Tulips
The sleek and simple shape of the tulip is truly beautiful. This timeless flower looks amazing in a bouquet or boxed arrangement. As they are such a luminous and lively flower, make sure you compliment them with a bright balloon and ribbons.
Extras to Add to the Bouquet
There’s a wide range of things that can be put with a new mother and child arrangement. Teddy bears are great as they are a cute keepsake that can be placed in the baby’s room, long after the flowers are gone. Champagne is usually a very welcome surprise, but will have to be put on ice until the new mother finishes breastfeeding! A bright alternative is a bunch of balloons attached to the bouquet. Not only do they add movement, but also give an extra pop of colour and excitement.
Flowers are always welcome in any circumstance, but after nine months of pregnancy and labour, a mother and her child are usually very excited to receive a beautiful delivery of flowers. Also, don’t forget to write on a card – these precious keepsakes often go into the baby’s album to be enjoyed for years to come.
