Yes, making money can be just as much fun as many of the things you do for enjoyment right now. That’s the lesson I learned after losing my job as a mortgage broker in the recession—and even losing my Porsche. In my new career as an Internet marketer, making money is more fun for me than it was when I founded my 2 successful companies years ago. Nor do you have to stop having fun or making money if you’re older. I’m having more fun and making more money in my early 60s than I ever did before. How do I do it? How am I having fun and making money? In my case, I’ve become a successful Internet marketer. Now part of my job is helping others to make money, too. But whether or not you want to become an Internet marketer, you can enjoy yourself by making money just as I do. Many of the principles I follow in my career and life come from my practice of Yoga. Yoga teaches us that our lives should be in harmony. We need to have balance in what we do to make money, and we need balance between making money and making time for the rest of our lives. And whatever we do to make money, it should be in alignment with our conscience and principles. You can’t have fun making money if what you do to make money doesn’t reflect who you are. Here are 5 tips that you can use for having fun while making money. They are drawn from my experience as a businessperson and as a student of Yoga. 1.First, clear and focus your mind. You may not want to try meditation, but at least do what you need to do to be able to think clearly and without emotion. You can’t have fun making money if your decisions about making money are made hastily or out of fear. 2.Now ask yourself what in the past you’ve especially enjoyed about your work making money. What makes you smile when you get up for work in the morning? 3.When you have a clear picture of how you enjoy making money, think about the things you love to do that aren’t making money for you now. Can you think of ways to make money while also enjoying one of your hobbies? Internet marketing is one way of making money through one of your hobbies or interests. 4.Now ask yourself about your highest goals and principles. What ideas for making money that you’ve thought about also reflect your goals and principles? How can you be most true to your innermost self while you are also making money? 5.Finally, ask yourself how much money you need to make to support your life as a whole. No matter how much fun you have making money, it won’t stay fun if the rest of your life suffers because you’re too busy making money. Another important thing is that you must believe that you can have fun making money and that you can have a life you enjoy while making money. You need to know that making money doesn’t have to conflict with your innermost self. Modern society teaches us to be fearful and to place making money above all things. Whether or not we are happy or having fun, we’re not supposed to care as long as we’re making money. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Yogis have been living good lives for thousands of years because they live according to what brings them true happiness. If you stay mindful and true to yourself, you too will find that making money can be fun and fulfilling.
