This was the day for over $2000of diet pills and powders to come to our home. My wife was on the phone telling me that the UPS truck had come to the house today and left plenty of boxes of the newest and best diet products. The idea behind all this was for me to retail these products and get the funds rolling in my new business venture. Being at the house and putting everything together was now my goal. I would start my own program tomorrow and see some results then getting rid of my inventory and making a profit would happen quickly. I eagerly got everything together and where ever I went I had my new weight loss kits with me. If you were breathing I was peddling, as per my up-lines recommendations. Along with doing that I lined up every body I knew for the same reason. A Few Months Later... I though about how everything had failed and would remind myself about being a crummy salesman. My wife loved me enough not to say it, but the way she looked at me let me know plainly, I told you so. Lets just say that for the next two years diet pills and powders were abundant. One of the things that really bothered me was thatonce my warm market contacts were done with me, so was my up-line. They were nowhere to be found. They were looking for fresh meat not an educated Network Marketer. Enter Magnetic Sponsoring where Mike says that he could dump two tons of vitamins in my driveway (it's a personal thing for me) and I still couldn't make it work. He was right wasn't he? What do you say we go over how things should have happened. Suppose I decide to contact someone in a company that sells Super Diet Plan vitamins. When we talk together he goes over what the products are but then interrupts the flow of the conversation by asking me: Rep: "Would you mind telling me where you came across my ad.? Me: "I heard it as I was listening to the radio. Rep: "What kind of marketing are you familiar with? Me: "Why are you asking me about marketing? Rep: "I just wanted to know where your at." While it is true that a small percentage are able to make things work by only talking to friends and family. However, this is not the norm. The surest way to succeed is by generating leads through marketing, and have people hunting you down for more information." Me: "I'm confused, what is it your getting at? Rep: I really do want to see you succeed in our business, and you most assuredly can.! You must, how ever, be awarethat marketing our company and products first can quickly lead to a dead end for a new distributor. Me: "How?" Rep: Dave you came to me asking me about my company and my opportunity. I was not the one who initiated the contact. Doesnt it make sense that your success will be much more certain if you put the same principle into play? Imagine those wanting a home business were seeking you out, asking you about your company and your company's opportunity? Do you think money would come next? Me: Yes I do. Rep: "I'm happy that's what your understanding."It is not the company or the products you need to market it is You and your ability to Market. Your first order of business is to read Magnetic Sponsoring. I would be curious to know just when I would have been making the money if I had learned this 20 years ago. Now I know marketing the right way and my wife no longer wants to say. I told you so.
