Unfortunately it isn`t as easy as that. It does requires work out, but it isn`t all that complex to interest visitors. It really is such a shame that after putting in all the effort a few people become disheartened at not getting much interest on their original sites. I have several sites and have found these ways that work for me, and it seems for a lot of others, are on this list. There`s no particular order of preference now, as I believe they all have a role to play in several way or other in getting visitors. Also, what I haven`t made is to talk about internal SEO (Search Engine Optimization) which takes in the use of keywords on your site, Meta Tags and so on. That`s greatest left to another talk. 1. Search engines will over a period of time logically pick up your site and index selected or all of the pages. Give them a helping hand by submitting your link to the major ones - Google, Yahoo and Bing. It`s very cool to do, and the search engines support webmasters to do it. Don`t submit too regularly though, usually once or maybe twice is sufficient. 2. Signatures in emails. If possible, add your link to every one email you send out. Who knows, but the recipient might click on it. 3. Signatures in Forums. If you are a member of a forum, if permitted, place your link(s) in your signature. You will be surprised at how many other members on a busy forum will click the link and visit your site. Remember though that when you publish on a forum it is not for the reason of spamming your signature, it should be to make a contribution to the discussions. 4. Write articles. If you can create on almost any theme create and submit articles of between 250 and 750 terms to companies who will print your articles. Most allow the author to use what might be called a `Resource Box` in which a little is written just about the author (bio) along with a couple of links to his/her sites. If your article gets selected up by other publishers in the form of ezines, say, then your links have to be exposed along with the article. That can product in a lot of at no cost publicity. Your articles could also be selected up by the search engines which can be another useful source of visitors. 5. Links. Find other sites with a comparable niche to yours and find out if they will add a link on their site back to yours. Some might persevere on a reciprocal link. 6. Blog. Running a blog can keep visitors up to date with what`s going on. This can be complete through Wordpress or Blogger, though personally I choose to have a blog as part of my site. Search engines like fresh content, and a blog is an ideal way to do this. 7. Social Networks. These are getting more current so make use of Twitter, Facebook or a few other you can be working in. 8. Social Bookmarks. Digg, Reddit, Diigo, Mixx are just a few of the bookmarking sites you can add your site to, but don`t spam! It will get you banned. 9. Banners. Although currently there is a certain amount of `banner blindness` wherever Internet users discover to shut out banners, some will still click on any that catch their eye. You can of course pay for a banner to be made for you, or otherwise you can create one manually for at no cost. There are some very good banner creation sites which allow people to make their own of various sizes, colors and templates. You can then place your banner on other sites perhaps, or forums, either by exchanging them, or for a fee. Personally I have never paid to have a banner placed anywhere though. 10. Squidoo. Creating lenses about subjects you have information of can absolutely help you get noticed. Links to your own sites or blogs will be seen by people who read your lens(es) and can really help you become more visible.
