Cool Down Your Decor For Summer

Do you come indoors to cool down, but don't quite feel cool and comfortable, even though the air conditioners on? The room feels stuffy, and you just can’t seem to get comfortable? The way our homes are decorated makes a definite difference in the comfort we perceive (instead of actually experience). A light touch in decorating makes rooms feel cooler and more comfortable during hot weather and that will help you cool down, and feel comfortable in your home on the hottest summer day. How, exactly, to cool down your décor? It is relatively easy. It won’t cost an arm or a leg either. First get rid of all the soft, cuddly, warm looking items that you love during the winter, but all add up to give a stuffy feeling in the summer months. Such item’s as throws and pillows, the pine potpourri from Christmas.... Start your cool down by adding cool cotton or linen fabrics pillows in lighter neutral colors. Fresh summer flowers or wonderful green plants always add a touch of coolness to a room.

Here is a fun pillow project to cool off your winter pillows. Try wrapping your existing pillow’s with a linen or silk scarf as if you were wrapping a gift. Use safety pins or tack with a needle and thread wherever you would put a piece of tape on a package. It's an easy way to make a change without the trouble and expense of buying pillows for each season of the year. Besides, it’s a great way to recycle older scarfs that just sit in the drawer. Light colors are always better for summertime. Put away or cover gray or brown toned furniture. Furniture covers have come a long way since the days of cheaply knitted polyester throws with foam backing. You can buy covers that will fit your furniture snugly and stay in place, and look fabulous!. Look for covers made of firmly woven fabric in the style that fits your furniture, make sure to choose the lighter, softer colors. The softer tones are very relaxing. Roll up the heavy wool rug! If you have hard surface floors, flaunt them now. They're cooler and easier to clean of beach sand, garden dirt and other summer grunge.

Do away with clutter. Remove some of the knickknacks, and yes photos. Clutter spells dust, dust spells----stuffiness. Replace a photo with a plant or perhaps some sea shells in a great tray or glass bowl.

Get your drapes open; bring in the long awaited sun light. Take a little time clean your windows. Clean windows make all the difference, when trying to bring in a sunny summer day, minus the heat. Bottom line… Opt for soft light hues, and clean shiny surfaces, adorn with greenery or organic decorator accents. You will soon find yourself enjoying a hot summer day, in a cool relaxing atmosphere. An atmosphere that was created with a little imagination, just a bit of work, and very little out of pocket expense.

Is a wonderful Mexican city that is fronted by the blue Pacific Ocean, and backed by the lush, green tropical Sierra Madre Mountains. The people are friendly and charming, always helpful and accommodating. The minute you set foot in , you will relies you have arrived at a truly beautiful and unique place. The town itself is split into two sections, Old Town, and Centro, both having their own special qualities. It is my recommendations if visiting , make sure to take full advantage of both...

•Things To Do In Michigan During The Summer
Michigan's growing, problematic financial future, including the decline in automotive industry jobs (not to mention the higher cost of fuel), spells financial insecurity for many Michigan families, making it harder to afford long-distance vacations and high-priced recreational activities enjoyed so much in the past. This has led me to wonder, “How do we entertain ourselves and our families and fully enjoy summer break for less money? Better yet, how do we support Michigan’s economy in these...

Chances are you know about following the how to clean instructions on labels that are sewn into your cloths? But what if you spill wine, or find that you have a nasty rust stain on your new blouse or shirt? The first thought that may enter your mind, can I or can’t I use bleach safely? Labels at best tell you weather its safe to wash or dry clean only. Sometimes a label will mention if it's safe to use bleach or not. But much of the time there is no mention of bleach, or weather it can be...

•Rose s Doggie Banana Biscotti Bellissimo
I highly recommend this dog treat for all dogs, but especially for dogs that suffer with allergy problems. After learning that my Westie Rose had several allergies, it had me checking all of her dry dog food, and goodies for the forbidden ingredients. She ended up being allergic to some of the most common ingredient in dry pet food, ingredients such as, beef, rice, corn, flax, milk, soy, white potato, and corn. As you can see from this list, it was not going to be easy to find a food that...

•Jacobean Style Antique Furniture
Jacobean is a term used to cover all English style furniture from the reign of King James I to King James II. However, throughout this span of time Jacobean furniture showed markedly different influences. The earliest Jacobean furniture was influenced mainly by Elizabethan (1603 -1688) styled furniture. Commonwealth Style (1649-1660) marks the middle of the Jacobean Period, when the furniture was of simpler design and undecorated. The late Jacobean Period is that of the Carolean period, named...

•The People s Republic Of China
The People’s Republic of China might be the world’s third largest country, but it has the largest population. Spring and autumn are certainly the best times to visit China the majority of China. However, the highlands are better seen in the summer. The weather itself is a bit extreme and ranges from very cold to very hot. The country should be avoided during major public holidays, like the Chinese New Year, which usually occurs in February, unless you like crowds and don’t mind being stuck in...
