Some of the Xbox 360 glitches are at the game level, in other words there is an actual problem with the specific game being played. For the most part these are small annoyances since there are so many games to choose from. The most aggravating of Xbox 360 glitches has to do with a design flaw in the actual system itself, more specifically the console. The Xbox is a very powerful gaming computer in a very tight fitting console. The components inside build up tremendous heat and this can be a serious threat to the safety of your system. If your brick overheats it will shut down or lock up and you will get the feared Xbox Ring of Death. This is not a death sentence, but can become fatal if allowed to continue. So how do you prevent this most feared of all Xbox 360 glitches? Ventilation is everything. Be sure to give your brick plenty of it. Keep it out in the open not in a cabinet. Place it on a hard surface and not on carpet. It is even a good idea to elevate it a couple of inches off the ground to allow for more air flow underneath. Be sure not to cover your console with anything either on purpose or accidentally. Many like to personalize their bricks with decals and stickers or even painting them. All these ad dons slow down the dissipation of heat and are not advisable. It is also important to turn the Xbox 360 off when not in use. If you experience the RRoD don't panic. Unplug your brick and let it cool down for 20 30 minutes. It should be fine when you start it up. Be sure to check the ventilation and improve things if you can. Also be sure not to move your console while it is turned on. Always turn it off when making adjustments. What if you can't get past your Xbox 360 glitches? Well not all is lost. The manufacture recognizes there shortcomings and have extended warranties from a year to three years to address the glitches! Your firs course of action is to call the manufacture at 1-800-4MY-XBOX and see if you are covered.
