If you are wondering, "Does article marketing really work?" then that means you are not doing it and you are therfore missing out on a ton of priceless traffic to what ever it is you are promoting. Why is article marketing such a powerful tool for generating traffic? Article marketing is the act of writing and submitting articles to article directories. It's totally free and the articles bring your website traffic for years to come. Some article directories will accept articles that are just 400 words long, but others require at least 500 words so when I write an article I always make sure it is at least 500 words long, that way I can submit them to almost any article directory. There are several ways that an article brings in traffic. First there are the readers that found your article on the internet via a search term through a search engine and after reading your article they might click on your link in the bottom of the article or the author's bio. Second, there are many webmasters who need content for their ezine or newsletter, and if they use your article for that they have to leave your link in tact and clickable, therefore the readers of the ezine or newsletter might click on your link if it peaks their interest. Thirdly, there are many webmasters who need content for their website and they frequent the article directories for articles on a specific subject they are looking for. They can then build a web page with your article, again leaving your link clickable which does two things. It gets you traffic from the people who visit that website and click on your link and it also creates a backlink to your site that the search engines will see, and that will help your search engine rankings. One article might only bring in 2 to 10 visitors a month to your website but it will be bringing traffic for years. Now, if you wrote one article per day for 30 days you could multiply that traffic by 30 which in the past example would be 60 to 300 visitors per month. Now imagine if you wrote 365 articles in a year. At only 10 visitors per month from each article you would be getting 3,650 visitors per month absolutely free and for years to come. There is never a guarantee on how many visitors per month any one article will bring, but if you keep writing and submitting them you will have all the traffic you could ever want. Most people who have tried to make a living online have heard of the power of article marketing, but some just think it's too hard and don't do it. That is a big mistake. Article marketing in my opinion is the most powerful method of generating tons of free targeted traffic to any website. Free traffic can be generated by submitting ads to free classified ad websites such as classifiedsforfree.com and usfreeads.com but it could take an hour or more just to write and submit 10 to 20 ads, all of which will eventually expire and you'll need to do resubmit them. An article, on the other hand, can take (for me) 20 minutes to write and another 10 to submit it. It will never expire and will gain more relevance in the search engines than classified ads. In fact I have many of my articles listed on the first page of Google and some in the #1 position when the title is entered into the search box. For example, the title of this article is "Article Marketing. Does Article Marketing Really Work?" I don't know where this article will rank for the broad match "article marketing" but when you search for the whole title "Article Marketing. Does Article Marketing Really Work?" I wouldn't be surprised to find it on page one just a day or two after this article is submitted. It could also get a high ranking for the term "Does Article Marketing Really Work?" Getting listed on Google's page #1 is the best targeted traffic you will ever get. Millions of people use PPC (pay per click) advertising to get listed on the search engine pages and some even pay upwards of $10 per click depending on the keywords they are bidding on. So, does article marketing really work? Absolutely. It works GREAT. If you are trying to make money online, no matter what the business is, if you aren't using article marketing, you are missing out on gold mine of visitors to your website.
