Many people have frustrating experiences where their computer is infected with computer virus, and they need to do something to fix it. If they are technical, they might tinker around only to make it worse. Otherwise they may buy anti-virus software and use it, only to find that the software can find the virus but cannot kill it. Being naturally inclined to help people, I am putting together this page to help people combat computer viruses.
To do that you have at least the following options:
Subscribe to a Firewall service: Personally I recommend this option. I have been using Sygate, a software firewall, for the past several years and my computer has never been infected with any virus of any kind. You can use other firewall software or even hardware, and it should help protect your computer. In fact, you can use Windows firewall that's already installed on your computer. I never used it before and cannot vouch for its reliability.
Using USB disk security software: This software will help you in detecting virus from your USB when you plug USB into your computer. On the other hand, it can delete some virus from your USB and protect computer 90% from virus.
Subscribe to an anti-virus software: You can find many decent anti-virus software by searching on the Internet, such as Norton, McAfee, avast!, some free and some are not. In fact, if you go to download.com, you can search for any software you want with whatever filter you specify.
I recommend that you download The Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool because it is free and Microsoft releases an updated version of this tool periodically. Also no one knows better about Windows than Microsoft, giving Microsoft most credibility in handling this matter.
