Readers Questions Suggestions
Now I shall once again dodge having to write a real article and instead answer a few reader questions.
Mozilla is becoming well known for its Firefox browser and Thunderbird e-mail client, but its Sunbird calendar is less well known. Put simply, it is a clone of the calendar in Microsoft Office but it is completely free and worth a look for anyone who wants an office calendar program without the expense of buying Microsoft Office.

Well spotted Ian. Despite being...
Internet Browsing with Firefox
I'm afraid that Firefox have gone and ruined all my good intentions. I really did think I was over Firefox but they have now released a new revision, version 3.0. So, unfortunately, I feel obliged to write another article about the subject. I do apologise.
Firefox 2 was an excellent browser however having been released towards the end of 2006, it was certainly due an update. It's not so much that the browser looked dated as it was still an incredibly capable application but I just got the...
Firefox Extensions
Many of my Click articles end up with me banging on about how good Firefox is and how all my readers should consider using it as their main browser over Internet Explorer which is bundled free with Microsoft Windows. Since one of the main arguments I use is the large amount of third party add-ons that are available I thought this week I should probably corroborate that thinking by naming a few of them.
Add-ons (otherwise known as extensions or plug-ins) aren't pieces of software in...
New Firefox Version 1 5
With a new version of Firefox recently released I thought it was well time that I recap on this fantastic browser as far too many people are still using what I would consider to be the inferior Microsoft designed Internet Explorer.
My original review last year focussed on the main improvements over the Microsoft offering and these include:
Tabbed Browsing - This allows you to only have one browser open but with multiple tabs (pages) that you can then switch between quickly and easily....
Browser Wars 2
We're all very aware that Microsoft are a very powerful company and last week we talked about how they crushed the competition when releasing their browser in the mid to late 1990's. Netscape was a very prolific company of that time and when Microsoft released Internet Explorer for free bundled with their Operating System it was clear they weren't going to last long. Even to this day the actions of Microsoft are the subject of many debates, not to mention court cases, concerning allegations...
RSS Feeds
As you are no doubt aware the Internet is a huge place and with billions of pages at your disposal it can sometimes be a little tricky keeping up to date with the information that you require. Luckily a technology known as RSS (Really Simple Syndication) makes it easy to have the latest news and features delivered directly to you rather than you having to go searching for them. By using an RSS reader or compatible browser you can easily get the latest headlines and articles from your...
Google s first Web Browser comes with Google Chrome
I'm considering giving up my reviews of Internet browsers in the future; things are changing far too quickly to keep abreast of developments and it seems once I've got on top of things the entire playing field changes dramatically and I have to start again from scratch. Some might argue that I spend too much time on the subject of web browsers but due to the huge differences between them, along with the large amount of time the average user spends using one, I would have to disagree.
It was...
Contributions From Readers
At the time of writing (Thursday 12th) I have just celebrated my 25th birthday and as sit in front of my laptop today I find it genuinely hard to believe that when Click started over 300 articles ago that I was a teenager - Where has the time gone? To digress I plan on taking everything a little bit more easy today and as a couple of readers have recently contributed some interesting questions and comments I thought I would leave the article predominantly in their hands today!...
Windows Vista
Last week I promised that I'd take a look at the new version of Windows that is currently under development, . Not wanting to disappoint, I will today be taking a look at the latest preview build (5231) that was released to beta testers a few days ago. Windows Vista (formally codenamed 'Longhorn') was originally envisioned as a minor upgrade to Windows XP designed more as a stopgap although as work progressed on the Operating System it took the shape of an all encompassing major...
Internet Browsing The Contenders
I think we soemtimes forget the humble Internet browser, however, just recently a lot of attention is being paid to the 'browser war'. After all, most people do use a browser everyday. The latest war currently encompasses a number of big players, including Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera.
To understand the importance of these developments, we need to look back at the first browser wars which began back in the mid 1990's, just as the World Wide Web started to receive a huge amount of mass...
