Personality Really Can Impact Marketing Strategy

I was reading a report recently indicating that because every individual has a certain temperament exercise options may be important to success in weight control and physical stamina.

For instance if an individual is more inclined to enjoy time alone or may be a bit introverted they would likely prefer exercise that allows them to be alone. This could include biking or running in an environment away from the gym. If an individual is more outgoing or extroverted they might like the atmosphere created in an exercise class setting. Obviously there would be multiple temperaments that fall in between with accompanying exercises to consider.

If you own a business you know the value of advertising, but I think we can apply the above logic to uncover why some advertising or online marketing ideas just don't feel right. It may just be based on your own personal temperament.

Personality Profile

Introverted – This individual will be highly creative and craft exceptional product lines. They pay strong attention to detail and don't often mind doing the extra work needed to get things done. They may struggle with interpersonal relations because they don't really like small talk, but aren't sure how to engage in something more meaningful. These individuals don't really like talking about what they do they simply do it. The introvert will have fewer visible friends, but any relationships that are built will be strong.

Extrovert – No one is a stranger to this individual. They are geared to connecting with people and are extremely adept at marketing because they aren't afraid to talk about their product, services or the things they are interested in. They may seem less creative when it comes to product creation (not universally true), but they are exceptionally creative in marketing. The extrovert doesn't mind small talk and they've got plenty of friends.

Business Impact

Introvert – It will take leaving a personal comfort zone for the introvert to develop certain marketing strategies. They will need to learn the art of networking and develop both consumer and business-to-business contacts in order to maximize growth potential. They may easily adjust to creating a banner or Pay Per Click (PPC) ad or even using Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies because these can all be done apart from human connection.

Extrovert – Marketing may seem easier to this type of individual. They will thrive on personal and business blogs, social media such as Facebook, Twitter or MySpace as well as applicable forums. They will enjoy going to where the people are and pointing them in the direction of their product or service. They may be less inclined to worry too much about SEO strategies because they concentrate more on how to get someone to come to their site today than how to develop a long-term approach to marketing.

In both cases it will require discipline to learn what you may be lacking in your willingness to market your business or yourself. If it becomes too difficult you may decide to hire an outside marketing firm to manage the details you find most difficult to accomplish on your own.

Strategy would be like architectural blue prints while method is the way you texture the dry wall, install the plumbing or prepare hardwood flooring. Strategy is the ultimate...

Learning Ecommerce Strategies by Watching Television Shopping Channels
Why do people watch those shopping channels? The items they show often do not fit into a person's lifestyle nor do the colors and styles match their needs. They often have items for sale many consumers have absolutely no interest in. Let's just say I don't watch shopping channels for leisure. That being said I am convinced that television...

Why a Personal Recipe Makes Online Marketing Taste Great
What makes your marketing approach different – unique? Really, can you define the tactics that set you apart? Maybe it all comes down to the ingredients and technique. There are some great restaurants that sell some awesome food. Well, at least some of the time. I can go to one steak house and spend close to fifty dollars on a meal that I will talk about for days, but the next time I visit I may not be entirely sure I ever want to come back. I’m sure they started out with great cuts of...

The Power of Low Negatives For Your Online Business
There is a political strategy that has been used successfully for several years now. The idea is to support and push for candidates with low negatives. This philosophy tends to suggest that a winning candidate may not have the overall highest degree of positives, but they absolutely must have low negatives. If a skeleton is found in the closet by the news media this is a negative and will be heavily reported on in most cases. Since it is normal for the media to fixate on bad or negative news...
