Branding Yourself and Your Business



When marketing online there are certain duties that must be performed for us to brand your business effectively. Your name and your company name should be included in the keywords of your website. Both names should appear in the content of your website itself as well as in the source code of your site for search engine robots to spider. Every day you promote your business opportunity you're branding yourself and your company. In this article we will discuss some vital elements when working online that will help you to become profitable in your marketing endeavors.

You must be totally focused of your target market. Using the shotgun approach in marketing will not get you the positive results needed, for a successful marketing campaign. You must be laser focused on a specific product or type of clientele to get the most out of your marketing efforts.

A recognizable logo is helpful when trying to brand your product or service. A great example would be Pepsi. You can recognize the Pepsi logo anywhere, regardless of what language it may be written in. Most well known companies have used the same logo for years with minor changes. They will use the same color scheme on everything they advertise. The unique logo becomes their trademark.

Think of a slogan that applies to your business and use that slogan on everything you do. By consistently using your slogan it becomes almost as important as your name. You want potential clients to think of you when they read your slogan, or see your logo.

It is advised you keep your personal email and your business email separate even though you may be using both in your branding efforts.

The way you answer your phone will have a tremendous impact on the success of your business. A friendly, well spoken greeting on the phone is the first impression your caller will remember. A simple “Hello” may not be the best idea. Keep your greeting pleasant and rather short, but specific to your business.

The way your voicemail message is presented will make a tremendous impact on your caller’s opinion of your organization, and you should be prompt when returning your follow up calls.

If you offer a newsletter, you should include your branding information, logos and slogans on every issue. This is one source of communication that is consistently before the general public. Use it wisely and your rewards will be substantial.

Always check and double check your spelling, punctuation and letter format on each and every piece of correspondence. You may miss an error occasionally, however, don’t make a habit of just mailing out unprofessional looking information. If you don’t know how to do these checks then hire the services of a professional to help you in this crucial area of effective marketing.

Your goal should be to make your initial contact with any client whether a new contact or an existing client, as pleasant as possible. You’re not going to please everyone all the time, however, you should make as many clients and potential clients feel their experience has been professional and as friendly as possible.

If you use any kind of webcam, always dress professionally regardless of how well you know your client. If you set around with no shirt on and scratch your armpits during your presentation, you probably just lost your contact. Make sure your back ground is well organized. Nothing is worse than being distracted by background junk on this type of call.

Know your product or service like the back of your hand. A well given, factual presentation is vital for closing any sale on the phone. Don’t try to impress your customer with a lot of hype or questionable stats unless you can prove your comments on the spot. “Too good to be true” comments, will normally be an instant turnoff for your potential customer. Keep your comments factual, realistic and relative to your business opportunity.

Keep focused on your overall business plan and work your plan. If you haven’t already developed such a plan, do it now. This is a key piece of the overall marketing puzzle that is critical to your online success. If you don’t know how to do this part of the process, secure the services of a professional marketer who can get you started on the right track to success.
