You dont need me to tell you that the economy sucks! And I don't have to point out that unemployment numbers keep creeping up too, right? I mean everyone in America probably knows what that number is and it isnt good! And if you're anything like me, you're probably pretty worn-out of the government telling you what you should be doing too, right? Here is one more question for you. What do GE, Disney, HP & Microsoft all have in common? Give up? Each was a startup company during either a serious recession or depression in the U.S.GE got their start in the middle of the panic of 1873, Disney got its start during a recession in 1923/24, Hewlitt Packard started business during the '29 Depression, & Microsoft started operations in a recession back in 1975! Since we're talking about the Great Depression! Weve all heard of Proctor and Gamble, the huge maker of everything from air fresheners and antiperspirants to laundry soap and dog food! Proctor & Gamble made it through the Great Depression without a scratch and actually gained ground on their competitors! And I imagine they will do very well during this recession as well! Chevrolet actually surged ahead of Ford during the 29 depression at a time when Fords were outselling Chevy by 10:1! And there wasnt even a Cash For Clunkers Program back then! And the Kellogg Company actually bested the C.W. Post Company during that same Great Depression! OK So What Are You Telling Me? The message here is that not everybody gets rich when things are going good, some excel during times of adversity. And companies do too if they have the right marketing system! And this recession will be no different! It's simple, really! The companies with the smartest marketing strategies will win every time...no matter the economy! What System Do You Believe Is Best?
