Seeing Red Who Says You Can t Use Red Bedding in Your Son s Nursery

First-time parents often assume that preparing a proper nursery means using pink for a daughter or blue for a son, although nothing could be further from the truth these days. In fact, you are perfectly free to decorate with any color or colors you like, whether persimmon or purple or a combination of the two.

An individual color can even serve as its own motif, if you select different tones that provide contrasts for each other. Kindergarten teachers will tell you that all young children seem to particularly favor bright red, and this is especially true for little boys, who often fantasize about fire engines and sporty race cars. For a little boy's bedroom, there are all sorts of wonderful ways to decorate when starting with the knock-out element of red baby bedding.

You can further enliven the space with red toys and wall decorations or with a no-skid red area rug that baby can eventually learn to crawl on. And there is not just the monochromatic approach, but also the alternative of juxtaposing solids with lively printed fabrics, since there are packaged sets which provide the necessary pieces to do just that. After all, red is associated with so many exciting images, from small red tugboats to giant red ferris wheels, all of them highly appropriate for use as part of your son's baby boy bedding.

The linen ensembles on the market nowadays are a hassle-free means of decorating attractively and at relatively low cost. You get the pieces you need in the sizes that fit your baby's crib properly, and generally everything is clearly labeled so you can check for any safety issues that could prove dangerous to your precious offspring.

A mobile can give baby hours of pleasure and a crib bumper is fine, as long as it is thin and well secured, but both of these should be removed when your little one gets strong enough to try to grip the former and climb the latter. Crib bedding should not, of course, include squishy pillows and fluffy quilts, none of which belong in a bed with an unattended child.

Keep in mind that it will be a while before your new son will be fully aware of his surroundings while you will be in and out of his room many times every day. Don't hesitate to add a big red heart or splashy red blossoms --whatever it takes to make this space a pleasurable one for you as well. Remember the old but true saying: a happy mom makes for a happier baby.

Parents should always be careful when choosing items for the nursery to ensure that their child is safe in his crib. You need to remember that it will be awhile before your little baby will be completely aware of his nursery, but you will be in and out of his room all day long.

To decorate on a budget, but still have the ability to purchase high-quality products, linen sets readily available in stores today are a good option. Because red recalls vivid images of toys and other playful things, it would be very appropriate for your son's baby boy bedding. You will need to make sure that the bedding's size is the correct one for your particular crib, and don't forget to inspect the label for potential safety problems that might endanger your infant.

In this day and age, the days of using pink for a daughter and blue for a son are over when decorating the baby's nursery. You can even pick out colors like persimmon or purple, or even combine the two when you decorate a nursery now.

Reds can be combined in many shades to create an entirely red themed nursery. Kindergarten teachers say that younger children generally like bright red, especially boys, who often have a fascination with fire engines and red cars.
