Live Your Life to the Fullest Beat Your Panic Attacks





Living your life to the fullest is quite difficult when your life is mostly consumed of panic attacks. A lot of people cannot live a normal because of this terrible condition. They become slaves to this phobia and more often than not, they end up feeling helpless and unable to do something out of it. Panic attacks happen when people perceive something as a threat may it be other persons or situations. People who have this condition especially those who are threatened with the presence of other people end up living alone and tries to avoid going to places and meet other people. Can you imagine yourself living this kind of life?

I have known friends who suffer this kind of condition and I could not help but feel pity for them. But thanks to modernization, there are now a lot of ways to fight this problem. Here is how my friend was able to beat her panic attacks.

People who experience panic attacks would naturally want to get it over with in an instant and would therefore seek relief from medications. However, the medication itself will not treat the root cause of the attack rather it helps calm down and ease suffering temporarily but never really treats the cause. Later on as you keep taking the medications you will eventually realize that it becomes more difficult to stop it and your condition worsen as days go by making it more impossible for you to stop taking it. The end result is that your physical health as well as your mental-being is compromised. The effect of medications will not let you think clearly on how to deal with the problem face to face. What it provides is a temporarily relief from all the harsh symptoms.

For normal people a small factor that stimulates nervousness is considered a big one for people experiencing panic attacks. Therefore, they tend to overreact to the stimulus and experience sweating and hyperventilation immediately the moment the stimulus is present.
Panic attacks can be treated without having to go through all the medications. The first step is to acknowledge and accept that you are suffering from it. Acceptance is very important because a person cannot simply accept any treatment for him if he continues to deny that he is indeed suffering from panic attacks.

The next step is to figure out what is causing your panic attacks. Identifying the problem is important as it will be the foundation of your treatment. If you are unable to pinpoint exactly the cause of the attacks, a diary should aid you in figuring it out. Make sure that you document each panic attack, try to record everything that you remember before the onset of the attack, the date, the time, the situations, your thoughts, and everything relevant to it. Check for patterns or a common factor that is present in all your documentation. This will help you pinpoint exactly the root cause of your problem.

Third, when panic attack strikes learn to breathe normally. Take huge deep breaths. If you are hyperventilating, try to hold your breath for a few seconds before releasing it. This is done to stabilize the levels of carbon dioxide in your bloodstream. Do this until your pulse and breathing will go back to normal.

Fourth, think of peaceful thoughts. Clear your mind. Always say to yourself that you can deal with the problem easily. Do self-hypnosis and discipline your mind.

Lastly, do frequent meditation to clear out the stressful factors occupying your mind. Go to a quiet and relaxing place where you can think well. Erase all the worries that you have been storing in your subconscious.

Try to do all of this with extreme discipline and I guarantee you that you can live your life to the fullest. Seeking professional help should be the last option if you are still unable to handle the situation.
