Anxiety and Panic Attacks What Is It and How To Deal With It

Uneasiness, uncertainty, and fear in reaction to anticipation to a predicted or real threat – that generally described anxiety.

Time to time, we all experience being victimized by the feel of anxiety. In fact, it is easy to see how a simple stint of our nerves can lead into a fully developed panic attack. Take a look at my personal experience on anxiety to further understand as how t could happen to anybody.

It was December and my aunt died due to hypertension which also happened to be the same cause of my father’s death. Having that in mind and knowing that that disease runs in the family, I always can help to think of what if it will also happen to me. This thought served like a shadow that keeps on hunting me most especially when I am sick. Until there was such time when I got overwhelmed and felt really happy from a family reunion and the topic about hypertension and death was out of nowhere being brought out. Being reminded with that dilemma again, I just felt terrible and suddenly just could not breathe. I was brought to the hospital because of the fear of passing out. When a doctor finally gets to check me out, all he said was that I was just stressed out and all I needed was rest. My vital signs where ok, my blood pressure is normal and I have no signs of heart problems either. After that incident, the heavy and difficulty of breathing still happens so I went to a series of medical check up yet the results were still the same. So then I realized, these attacks are all in the mind. It hits me in almost anywhere I go and in almost everything I do. And I noticed that it only happens when I am depressed or when I am having bad thoughts.

On a medical basis panic attacks involve sudden manifestation of at least four of the following symptoms.

Choking
Shortness of breath
Chills or flushes
Chest pain or discomfort
Fear of going nuts or losing control
Accelerated heart rate or palpitations
Numbness or a tingling sensation
Trembling or shaking
Diarrhea, stomachache, or nausea
Dizziness, faintness, unsteadiness
Choking
Fear of dying
Disassociation with reality or your current environment

My personal experience clearly stated what anxiety and panic attack is. Basically, it is just an effect of feeling so much intense because of a certain situation or because of a very bad memory.

Panic attacks boost up in just a short time usually about 10 minutes and disperse quickly. Being able to experience panic attacks in several times already, I can say that it is in a way just a matter of the mind. Panic attacks reach us because of our inability to abruptly cope up with unexpected pressure and negative thoughts.

Like what I did to reduce and hopefully to totally eliminate that occurrence of panic attacks, you too can save yourself. First understand how powerful your thinking is and that accept that it can truly affect you. So in order to stay away from panic attacks, it is very much important to learn acceptance. Accept that you are weak and that you really need the people around you. Accept the negative thought that has been shadowing you and eventually leave it. Have a happy lifestyle, keep a positive mindset and enjoy the presence of your love ones and those that you love you back.
