You can determine if a 4* hotel is legit by seeking out user reviews on the hotels that you are considering visiting. Common travelers who provide reviews on hotels are much more honest than travel agencies. A traveler who had a bad experience at a hotel will have no problem telling you that they had a bad experience. Therefore, you should always seek out user reviews to discover what a hotel is really like. There is in fact little difference between a 3* hotel and 4* hotel. You should always be careful not to make a booking at a hotel just based on this loose rating system alone. You should seek out the opinions and input of others and should make a decision based on visitor facts and reviews.
