•Is Vacation Rental Ownership Your Business Opportunity
?
by: David Leonhardt
It's a dream I've heard so many people express: I want to run a bed and breakfast. They are so cute Or I want to own a vacation rental property, so I can get a free vacation and make money the rest of the year.
But what is really involved in being a vacation landlord? Is it a business that is right for you. I asked 9 vacation rental owners for their advice to would-be vacation rental owners.
Can you afford the mortgage if your home is not rented at all? asks...
•You Have To Love The Location Say These Owners Of Orlando Florida Villas
by: David Leonhardt
It has been said that in real estate there are three things that count the most: location, location and location. I recently discovered how powerful this concept can be.
Not long ago, I wrote an article about owning a vacation rental and what to consider before making the plunge ( http://www.seo-writer.net/clients/villa-ownership.html ). Like every decision, there are pros and cons, and it also depends on an individual's temperament, comfort with risk and many other...
•Vacation In Comfort With Kids
by: David Leonhardt
It takes a special person to travel with kids – a parent. Children have their own needs. Their idea of a vacation is more adventurous than a parent's. They need constant stimulation and they can get as tired as they are tiring.
There are many top ten type lists of tips for traveling with children: how to ensure they eat well and drink enough, how to dress them for weather variances, how to provide the stimulation they need, how to make sure they don't drive off with...
•Ditch The Hotel For A Villa Or Vacation Home
by: David Leonhardt
Two visits to Budapest. Two apartments, walking distance from downtown. I did not even set foot in the Hilton. My mother and I saw Budapest like only someone who stays away from the Americanized hotels can. We stayed with the locals. We came to feel the city, not just see it.
Several years later, I returned to Europe on my honeymoon (this time, without my mother). The first two nights in a little village near Schaffhausen, Switzerland, we stayed in the European...
•Alternatives for Business Travelers

I'm coming home. I've been away too long. Been away so long. I'm coming home – Ian Thomas, in Coming Home
I still recall my road warrior days. It seemed like every other week, I was hopping on a plane for Orlando or Vancouver or Palm Springs or Washington or Chicago or Toronto.
It might not be Rome, Paris, and Monte Carlo, but Washington, Toronto and Orlando are pretty classy places. I went to crucial meetings. I was an important person. I was a frequent...

•The Secret Weapon To Beat SARS Is In Your Head
by: David Leonhardt
Just when you thought you had all the fun you could possibly handle with Saddam Hussein, North Korea, Al Quaeda and the winter that just won't die, along comes SARS – severe-acute respiratory syndrome.
I recently fielded a call on this subject from one of my biggest fans: You moron. What do you mean we can fight SARS with our heads? Can't you see? We are all going to die. Die. Die, I tell you.
Please, mother. Don't panic. Panicking will only make it...
•There s More to Orlando than Disney
by: David Leonhardt
Orlando is one of the top tourism destinations in the world. It features Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and Sea World. People come from every continent to take in these famous theme parks, and especially to meet Big Mickey.
But there is another Orlando, a city full of unexpected smaller attractions, that you might want to take in when you want something a little different or just a break from the crowds at Disney World.

•True Friends Are Not Dream Slashers
by: David Leonhardt
A friendship poem:
Choose friends wisely, the portrait they paint
Is who you are and who you ain't.
Friendship is life's great support
When friends are of the right sort.
For all your dreams do they make room,
Or bring you down with doom and gloom?
You will know a friendship is true
When it brings out the best in you..
It's true. You can tell a person by the company she keeps. Our friendships not only tell a lot about who we are -- they make us...
•Muscle Pain And Children Do Not Mix
by: David Leonhardt
I am in pain. I've been in pain all day. Last night, I was in searing pain, which is pain multiplied by pain, divided by relief, then multiplied by pain to the tenth power. In case you are not a math whiz, that equals pain with 33 zeros after it. Two days ago, I was in pain (just regular pain, no zeros). In fact, I was in pain all week.
Welcome to my humor column.
Actually, pain is not really all that funny ... unless it happens to somebody else. Oh, come on....
