Oman and Various Activities Provided by it to the Tourists





Oman offers a wide variety of attractions that can induce the tourists to visit and spend their holidays in Oman. These attractions include numerous places to visit, different activities to engage in and different tours in Oman. A tourist can visit the museum, eat in different restaurants, spend a day as beach holiday, go on a desert safari tour, go for hiking and trekking and engage in other various activities offered by Oman and its people to the tourists and local people of Oman.

Holiday in Oman is true exquisite, calm and memorable experience. The place has a lot to offer. From desert safari to city landscapes, it's what it takes to be a tourist attraction and making your day a superb history. Apart from the desert rides, can explore the cities and other places. Would surely appreciate the amount of development that has been done in this country in such a small span of years. This is and a politically stable country where law and order situation is also well within the control of the government so the tourists can have a care free and relaxing holidays. On the pocket, the choices are various and range from mid range to costly. There is a lot to do for children as well making a great recreation for the whole relatives.

Oman has a coastline of 1700 km. Having such a huge coastline, it offers some of the cleanest, most spectacular beaches that a visitor can desire to visit. Except for a few beaches that are connected to the beach resorts or military property, the rest are private. People are normally seen enjoying a beach holiday with their families. Some of the beaches that are situated in the Muscat capital area are Aviation Beach, Qurum Beach, Bandar Jissah, Marjan Beach and a few others.

Aviation beach is located near the Civil Aviation Club in Al Azaiba. It is full of starfish, crabs and unusual shells. Qurum beach, well set up for visitors and with a number of picnic areas and facilities, is located below the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Bandar Jissah is located near Qantab. The bay is quite isolated. A children’s playground and snack shop are also situated at the beach. Marjan beach is near the Petrolium Development Oman (PDO) gets lively during early evenings. This beach is perfect for novice snorkelers. One can see clown fish, parrot fish, sea cucumbers and occasionally, turtles and rays while snorkeling.

Another activity in which tourists can effectively enjoy their tours in Oman is desert safari tours. People go on this tour to enjoy the lifestyle and a great experience of living as a Bedouin for a short while. People hire the services of a tour operator. These tour operators then arrange for the necessary equipments and the means of transport, both a 4wd and a camel, as well as they provide the tents and other stuff required for the desert safari tour.

The famous places to visit on desert safari include Wahiba sands, Bawshar sands, A’Sharqiyah sand and Ramlat Tawq. Bawshar sands is within walking distance of the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. The visitors will find the golden hills of sand with drivers of SUV or riders of sand bikes enjoying their time gliding. Sand bikes are easy to rent in this area. A’Sharqiyah sands are considered as one of the most beautiful camping places in Oman and have a total area of over 10 thousand square km. This is considered the original homeland of Bedouins. This area is particularly a favorite place for desert camping and adventure due to its easy accessibility and availability of services. Ramlat Tawq, an area of beautiful sand dunes, is located between Wilayat Barka and Nakhil and is one of the sites to be frequently visited by flocks of tourists to enjoy the tours of desert.
